What are worship assistants? Worship assistants are congregation members who are willing to help with the Sunday services and special services on a rotational basis. We encourage all members to sign up to assist as a greeter, lector, communion assistant or usher. When you sign up, your name will be added to a rotational calendar to serve during an assigned service. We thank you in advance for your participation. Sign up below!
Greeters – Greeters welcome all who worship. This job is simple. Stand at the doors in the narthex and greet the worshipers as they enter. It’s a great way to get to know members and visitors. If you can share a warm smile and shake a hand or two, consider being a greeter.
Lectoring – Lectors read the weekly scripture lessons. The lessons are sent prior to Sunday, either by mail or email, so a quick review is possible. No experience is necessary.
Communion Assistants – We need four communion assistants at each worship service, every Sunday. By assisting in this manner, Pastor John is available to bless the children who are encouraged to come to the Lord’s table. Instructions and guidance will be provided.
Ushering – The ushers assist with collecting the offering, helping guide the congregation for communion and are available for general questions and help as needed. Guidance is provided prior to ushering.
